Ronald E. Goldstein, DDS

Dr. Ronald Goldstein is widely considered the father of modern cosmetic dentistry and even wrote the first comprehensive textbook on esthetic and cosmetic dentistry in 1976.

Dr. Goldstein is both a prolific writer and consumer of academic literature on the topics of dentistry, specifically esthetic smile enhancements and their implications to the world of beauty, success, and one's overall appearance. His best selling consumer's book, Change Your Smile, (now in its 4th edition) has been translated into another language and read by millions of people worldwide. Dr. Goldstein also is on the Editorial Advisory Board for New Beauty Magazine.

Dr. Goldstein's dedication to Continuing Education has consistently earned him distinction as one of the "Leaders in Continuing Education" by Dentistry Today Magazine. Currently, Dr. Goldstein is a Clinical Professor at the Georgia Health Sciences University, and an Adjunct Clinical Professor at Boston University, the University of Texas, and the University of Pennsylvania.

He has presented continuing education courses at more than 20 universities and lectured at over 600 dental meetings in the United States, Canada, Australia, South America, Asia and throughout Europe.

He has also co-authored other books including Bleaching Teeth, Porcelain Laminate Veneers, Porcelain and Composite Inlays and Onlays, Imaging in Esthetic Dentistry, and Complete Dental Bleaching. His most recent textbook, Ronald E. Goldstein's Esthetics in Dentistry 3rd Ed was recently published.

Dr. Goldstein says that if he were not practicing Dental Medicine, he would be a fashion photographer.

David A. Garber, DMD

Dr. Garber was born in Johannesburg, South Africa and served in the Rand Light Infantry before becoming a dentist. Dr. Garber graduated with post-doctoral training in both periodontics and fixed prosthodontics, a very rare and prestigious accomplishment, to provide patients with a one-stop diagnosis and treatment facility. Prior to coming to Goldstein Garber & Salama, Dr. Garber worked at a private practice in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Dr. Garber is currently a Clinical Professor in the department of periodontics at the Georgia Health Sciences University School of Dentistry and also serves as a visiting professor in the department of prosthodontics at Louisiana State University.

He lectures extensively 40-50 times annually throughout the U.S., Europe, South America, and Asia. He has co-authored texts on cosmetic dentistry including Bleaching Teeth, Porcelain Laminate Veneers, Porcelain and Composite Inlays and Onlays, and Complete Dental Bleaching. He was also a co-editor-in-chief of The Journal of Esthetic Dentistry. He has authored an excess of 60 articles published in dental literature. However, Dr. Garber says he is most proud of surviving the upbringing of his three teenagers.

Maurice A. Salama, DMD

Dr. Maurice Salama was born in Cairo, Egypt and moved to Brooklyn, New York with his family during his childhood. He attended Abraham Lincoln High School, where he became a heavily involved member of the basketball team.

After high school, Dr. Salama went on to receive his Bachelor of Science degree from State University of New York, Binghamton. Eventually, he decided to pursue dentistry to follow in the footsteps of his brother, who is also a dentist. He completed his GP Residency at the ADA accredited hospital, Maimonides Medical Center-New York City.

Dr. Salama is an invaluable asset to our team with his rare specialized training in both orthodontics and periodontics, as well as implant dentistry. He is also a featured “Xpert content provider” and a senior member of the Scientific Committee of the leading web-based dental education site, www.DentalXP.com. Dr. Salama is grateful to be able to work with this amazing group of dentists who have a focus on delivering the highest quality of dentistry to their patients with compassion and understanding.

Marko Y. Tadros, DMD

Dr. Tadros was born into a Coptic Christian family of two hardworking physicians who immigrated to the United States in the late 1990s. Dr. Tadros’s interest in engineering, art, and medicine sparked his passion for the field of dentistry.

Dr. Tadros began his journey as a dentist at Georgia Regents University in August of 2010, obtaining his Doctorate of Dental Medicine by May of 2014. Upon graduation, he received the “Best of the Best in Prosthodontics” Award. Dr. Tadros also won first place in the esthetic contest at the “Digital Smile Design Miami Super Week,” held by Dr. Christian Coachman in September of 2014. Dr. Tadros’s attention to detail and eagerness to treat challenging cases led him to pursue a three-year residency program that specializes in Prosthodontics at Dental College of Georgia at Augusta University. Dr. Tadros is also involved in the Ronald Goldstein Center of Esthetic and Implant Dentistry, directed by world-renown Dr. Gerard Chiche. Dr. Tadros has a special interest in comprehensive full-mouth rehabilitations, esthetic and implant dentistry, computerized implant-guided surgery, 3D-printing, and digital dentistry.

Dr. Tadros’s research includes incorporating 3D-printing into dentistry. He has several publications in the Journal of Cosmetic Dentistry, including his latest, “A Blended, Novel Team Approach in Academic Esthetic Dentistry.” He has also lectured about esthetic dentistry, Digital Smile Design, computer-guided surgery, and 3D-printed implant surgical guides, both nationally and internationally. Dr. Tadros has a special interest in comprehensive full-mouth rehabilitations, esthetic and implant dentistry, computerized implant-guided surgery, 3D-printing, clear aligner therapy, and digital dentistry.

Outside of the office, Dr. Tadros and his wife enjoy traveling, DIY projects, painting, church activities, and most importantly, spending quality time with their family and friends.

Maria Paula Paranhos Silva, DDS

Dr. Paranhos was born and raised in Americana, a small, charming city in São Paulo, Brazil. Since her graduation from dental school in 2001, Dr. Paranhos has been passionate about minimally-invasive and conservative dentistry. She decided to pursue a career in adhesive and biomimetic dentistry. She is a specialist in advanced operative dentistry, with a Master of Science and PhD in dental materials. Dr. Paranhos came to the United States to pursue her dream and work under the mentorship of one of the most renowned professors in his area, Dr. Pascal Magne, with whom she published several articles regarding Bonding and Adhesive Dentistry.

While obtaining her PhD at the Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry at the University of Southern California, Dr. Paranhos had the opportunity to receive substantial training in digital dentistry (including CAD/CAM). She also had the chance to work with an extremely talented Master Ceramist, Michel Magne. Dr. Paranhos was invited to teach junior and senior students as part of the Esthetic Selective. After four years of teaching at USC, Dr. Paranhos decided to validate her Brazilian dental license in the United States and went back to dental school for two years to earn her second Doctorate of Dental Surgery.

Following her extensive professional training, Dr. Paranhos was thrilled to work at the Dental College of Georgia at Augusta University for more than three years, where she fell in love with Georgia and its lovely and welcoming people.

Dr. Paranhos is the humbled recipient of the Everitt V. Payne Memorial Award in Dental Morphology and the Archie Haljun International Student Program Award for Outstanding Achievement in Operative Dentistry. Dr. Paranhos is currently an active member of the Brazilian Dental Society, American Association for Dental Education, American Dental Association, International Association for Dental Research, and American Association for Dental Research. Dr. Paranhos loves being able to restore her patients’ smiles as well as their confidence. She also speaks Portuguese and has two children, Stela and Noah. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking and watching movies.

Marcelo M. Silva, DDS

Dr. Silva was born in São Paulo, Brazil and was raised in a small city named Mogi das Cruzes where he attended dental school. Passionate about implant dentistry, he focused his career on the surgical aspect of dentistry after having completed intense post-doctoral training in that field.

Dr. Silva made the decision to leave Brazil to pursue his dream to become a dentist in the United States. He spent several years as an intern in one of the most important multidisciplinary practices in the world, “Team Atlanta”, where he had the chance to follow Drs. Maurice Salama and David Garber chair-side. He decided to validate his Brazilian dental license in the United States and went back to dental school for 2 years and earned his second DDS at the University of Southern California.

After dental school, Dr. Silva decided to enhance his restoration skills and knowledge by pursuing post-doctoral training in prosthodontics at Augusta University. Following his residency, Dr. Silva started a fellowship at the Ronald Goldstein Center for Esthetic and Implant Dentistry directed by the world-renowned Dr. Gerard Chiche.

Dr. Silva is married to Dr. Maria Paranhos Silva, and together they have two toddlers, Stela and Noah.

Toni E. Salama, DDS

Dr. Toni Salama was born on Long Island in New York. She earned her bachelor’s degree in biological sciences at Binghamton University and received her Doctor of Dental Surgery at Stony Brook University School of Dental Medicine. She then went on to complete a 3-year post-graduate residency at New York University where she specialized in Periodontics and Implant Dentistry. During her residency, she received world-class training in treating complex cases, implant placement, and full mouth rehabilitation.

Dr. Salama’s goal is to create a sound foundation for beautiful and healthy smiles. She believes that building a rapport and facilitating open communication with each patient is essential for establishing trust. Taking the time to truly understand each patient's goals is a key factor for successful treatment. With her surgical training and experience, she prides herself on delivering quality care, personalized to her patients' individual needs. She loves what she does, and looks forward to taking care of her patients every day.

Dr. Salama is a diplomate of the American Academy of Periodontology and an active member of the American Dental Association. She is committed to continuing education in order to remain knowledgeable with state-of-the-art technology, procedures, and materials in dentistry. She has successfully completed advanced training through Live Patient Surgical Mini-Residency at UNIMES Metropolitan University and DentalXP Online Implant Fellowship Program. She has been recognized for her excellent care by patients and colleagues alike, and in 2021 was recognized as one of the Top Female Doctors in the country.

When Dr. Salama isn't practicing dentistry and caring for her patients, she enjoys spending quality time with her family, traveling with friends, and playing tennis.

Abtin Shahriari, DMD

Dr. Abtin Shahriari is a skilled oral maxillofacial surgeon and prides himself on being a good listener in order to provide the best care for his patients. After receiving his Master’s degree, Dr. Abtin Shahriari worked for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention for three years. He also was a consultant to the World Health Organization for the eradication of the polio virus in Bihar, India. Dr. Abtin attended Emory University for his Bachelor of Science degree and went on to receive his Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry at the University of Pennsylvania. He then went back to Emory University and completed his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery certification.

Dr. Abtin has extensive research and academic interests and has presented multiple articles at national and international meetings. He is actively engaged in research projects involving different aspects of maxillofacial surgery. His previous studies have been published in several journals including the Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, the New England Journal of Medicine, the Journal of Sports Medicine, and the Pediatric Infectious Disease Journal.

He speaks three languages (English, Spanish, and Persian) and feels that the most important and rewarding part of his work is the care he provides for his patients. He always approaches treatment through the perspective of the patient, which helps him understand their needs. Dr. Abtin feels strongly that physician-patient communication is essential in establishing high quality, exceptional care. When he’s not in the office, Dr. Abtin enjoys Yoga, chess, and mountain climbing.
